There are artists who create images. There are writers who shape worlds with words. And then there is Pia Benitez Yupangco, who does not choose between the two.

Her latest exhibition, REBIRTH, is more than a collection of collages. It is an act of return. A revisiting. A reckoning. A renewal.

Some of the works in this exhibit reprise earlier explorations—pieces once conceived, once completed, once released. But true to the exhibition’s title, Pia has re-entered them. She has tweaked, enhanced, reimagined, and reawakened them into new expressions of her singular voice. What was once finished becomes fertile again. What once spoke softly now speaks with deeper resonance. Confronting who we were — and to decide, gently, who we are becoming.

REBIRTH reminds us that art is never static. It evolves as the artist evolves.

Pia’s chosen genre—collage—is itself an act of conversation. Fragments meet fragments. Textures encounter space. Lines negotiate with silence. Her process is painstaking, meticulous, exacting. Every cut, every layer, every alignment is intentional. There is discipline in her design, but also daring.
